| A personal message from Limahl:
Regarding the ‘Comeback’ show……I just want say a HUGE thank you to all the fans who wrote to me, came to the TV Studio and cheered for me but more importantly, spent their time and money VOTING for me.
Your love and support kept me going through this grueling eight weeks of intense schedules with costume fittings, photo shoots, TV show rehearsals, recording for the ‘all star’ single & album, video shoot, learning and performing (usually at very short notice) new songs every week for the ‘live’ TV broadcast, with the added pressure of knowing that you will be scrutinised by the judges and TV viewers !!!!
It was a personal and professional challenge and I really feel that I have grown emotionally and spiritually. For eight weeks I lived almost entirely in Germany (near Cologne) and ‘Comeback’ took over my whole life, everyday was ‘Comeback’ related somehow.
I made some great friends in and around Cologne, worked with an amazing technical ‘behind the scenes’ team and we all became one big family……this means a lot to me. Thank you to all of you……I can’t say all your names but you know who you are ;--))
Eric & Frederick (TV studio crew), Andrea & Kay (backstage sound), Maria, Lisa, Andrea (costume dept), Heidi, Mandy, Ina (artist liaison), Oliver, Eline, Dirk, Gabriel, (‘Pro 7’ & ‘Constantin’ behind the scenes filming), Vladi (make-up), Eren, Damien, Stevie, Fred, Chris, Diana (drivers & security), Ronnie & all ‘Phantasialand Hotel’ staff, the catering staff for nourishing us, Nadja and her fabulous dancers, Ryan, Sonic, Alex, Niki, Steffi and Deborah. Terri (vocal coach), Petra (‘Position’ PR) and of course, not forgetting the man at the helm ‘Kurt’ (Director).
In the end I can honestly say I LOVED it all……it was sheer excitement all the way, a joy and a privilege to be part of ‘Comeback’. I didn't’ win and I didn’t even get to the final but I still feel like a winner. I feel very proud, so don’t feel sad for me at all. I can take all I have learned from this experience and put it to good use……you never stop learning in life, eh ?
It was also a real pleasure to meet and work with the other artist’s……there’s always those lovely private moments when we’re waiting around and so you just talk, you interact, swap stories, tell jokes, complain……whatever !!!! I especially liked Emilia, Dynelle (Weather Girl), Chris Norman and Benjamin Boyce.
Finally, an extra special thanks must go to all the great folks at ‘Constantin Entertainment’ & ‘Pro 7’, for giving me this ‘Grosse Chance’. (I hope I didn’t disappoint you). Otto Steiner, Daniela Geiger, Sophia Seydel, Christoph Issendorff, Mirko von Schlieffen, Iris Block, Ines Gruber, Nadja, Roland Thuns, Markus and all the others.
I’m sure our paths will cross again someday and I will look forward to it,……until then, I’ll leave you with that very fitting ‘Shakespeare’ quote (from ‘Romeo & Juliet’) “Parting is such sweet sorrow”
