"Poland was a very exciting trip - our first TV performance together in 25 years as the newly reunited Kajagoogoo. I've only ever been to Warsaw so was looking forward to Sopot with the forest and looking at the sea in north of the country. The fantastic 'Grand Hotel' staff and management greeted us in the reception on arrival with perfumed hand towels and chilled fruit juice - what a nice welcome.

The next morning it was sunny and we all went to sit on the beach for a while to relax and get some rays. Nick had not arrived yet from playing Bass the night before in Austria with Kim Wilde. I actually burnt my skin a little because I forgot to wear any sun cream - even just an hour can burn you !! Then we drove to the TV studio feeling good for a camera rehearsal and sound check.

The TV set was HUGE and really well designed - just as good as any from other European countries where I have performed. I imagined what it was going to be like later on when full with people. 'Live' TV is always exciting and the audience were really up for it. Shouting, screaming, lots of loud applause. They made us feel very good.

Thank you TVN for being such a professional team and thank you to the Polish people for making us feel so special. Hope to see you all again soon.

Forgot to mention:
We had a lorra lorra fun with Sam Fox & her dancers and Kim Wilde & band at the hotel bar after the show. Keyboard player Steve Powerwas tickling the ivories on the gorgeous grand piano and we were all singing along. Copious amounts of alcohol were consumed and the party rolled on until well after 3am. After which I turned into a pumpkin ;-)

PS: Shakin Stevens was also on the TV show but I didn't see him in the hotel.
